How Much Should I Pay: 2006 Honda Accord

Question From Rob: I was also looking at a Honda Accord EX 4 dr Sedan 6 Cyl. auto with leather interior but there is NO navigation in this particular car. It does have the Anti-theft system, moonroof, XM radio, etc, just as the 2007 snd looks to be in excellent condition. The 2006 is also claimed to be the internet price from the Dealership and has 31,000 miles and they’re asking $22,000. To me, this sounds to be a bit high for the 2006 with this many miles?

Thanks Again~
Rob

MuscleCarGuy: Hi Rob. Welcome back to AutoBragBlog, where we do all the car price researching for you.

For a 2006 Honda Accord EX Sedan V6 with 31,000 miles, prices range from $18,800 (being in above average condition) to $17,000 (being in average condition) and $15,200 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $17,000 to $21,400.

The $22K that the dealer is asking for the Accord is a bit high; you should negotiate it for a maximum off $21K. If we had to choose between a 2007 Accord 4 cylinder with navigation and 18K miles or a 2006 Accord V6 with 31K miles we would get the 2007. With the 07 you get an extra one year warranty or 13K miles. Another reason to get the 2007 is that with prices for gas getting close to $5 per gallon, the V6 will depreciate much more. Good luck and keep us posted on how the purchase goes! Don’t forget to tell your friends and family about our free personal service.
