Question For AutoBrag: Is the Manufacturer Warranty Transferable On A Used Car?

Question From Jerry: Hi! I am considering buying a used 2007 Cadillac Esclade with approximately 12,000 miles from a private seller. This falls well within Cadillac’s basic and powertrain warranty periods. However, are these warranties transferable to me as the new owner? Or am I stuck purchasing an “as-is” vehicle? Thanks for your help! I told my friends about this site!!
MuscleCarGuy: Hi Jerry. Welcome to our blog!
It is a pleasure to help people save money and time on a car purchase. The factory warranty on a used 2007 Cadillac Escalade is transferable if the previous owner didn’t have any modifications on the vehicle. After market equipment usually void the Manufacturer warranty. If the car is all stock you probably don’t need to worry about that. To make sure that everything is fine, you can get the VIN from the Escalade and call the service department from your local Cadillac Dealer and ask them to check if the warranty for that vehicle is still valid. Good Luck and let us know if you have any other question.
