How Much Should I Pay: 2008 Toyota Rav4

Question From Vicky:  What kind of discounts should I be looking for on a 2008 – FWD -2×4 Rav 4 – basci model – MSRP $22824 – Dealer offered $21841 – don\’t think this is a great deal – do you?? This is with a factory rebate of $500. I am in New York State.

Queen of the Road: Hi Vicky! Welcome to our blog. Here’s a deal in comparison to the MSRP you stated…

The best deal so far is from Miller Toyota Scion in Manassas, VA.

For a 2008 Toyota RAV4 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 4A),

The Largest Percentage Off MSRP Price: $19,838.00 (there’s a minor error.  The webite lists the deal as $19,338) The following is the corrected calculations.
MSRP: $22,985.00
ePrice: $19,338.00
Savings: $3,647.00
% OFF MSRP: 15.86%
A Thumbs Up deal!

Finance Specials:  0.00%-4.90% APR up to 60 Months. Offer Expires: 9/30/2008

Consumer Cash Incentives: A Cash Back Incentive of $750 is being offered to the Consumer upon purchase. Offer Expires: 9/30/2008

Hmm… The dealer offered only $983 savings off MSRP. The rebate should be $750. That’s only a sad 4.3% off. Boo! Bad deal.

What are all these blue links for? The first blue link breaks down the numbers so that you don’t have to do any math or researching. We also provide our personal opinion to whether we think the deal is good or not.

If we approve the deal, we’ll show a thumbs up and “Bring Your Checkbook“.

If we think the deal is ok, we’ll show a thumb tilted sideways and “Fair Market“.

The second blue link is the proof you’ll need when you step foot onto the dealership. Don’t leave home without it! It’s the page that shows the price which you’ll be asking for. It’s basically what you need to pull up on their computers if they don’t believe you found that price online form that dealer’s inventory.

How Do I Use This Deal from Manassas, VA In My Hometown? Print out all the blue links above and take them to your local dealerships. But before you go, we highly recommend you call and make an appointment to see the Internet Fleet Manager because he/she should know exactly what you’re talking about. Avoid the floor salesmen, head straight to the Internet Sales Manager.

If they don’t believe your prices, ask to use one of their computers so they can see where these figures came from. It’ll be impossible for them to doubt you because you’re pulling up dealership’s website and checking their inventory. It may take a few tries before a dealership agrees to honor the deal.
