How Much Should I Pay: 2006 Subaru Tribeca

Question From Diane:  2006 Suburu Tribeca Limited , 7 seat 27700 miles. Loaded with everything, inluding navigation, dvd players and wheel locks, etc. Is $19,000 cash a fair wholesale price. Pearl white, awsome conditon and no lien. thanks

Queen of the Road: Hi Diane. Welcome to AutoBragBlog! $19,000 is about $100 higher than that above average condition prices. It barely makes the wholesale prices, but the way you describe it, the offering price seems good. Since you’re paying cash, you shouldn’t feel guilty asking for a lower price! Are you buying from a dealership or a private party?

For a 2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca AWD V6 with 27,700 miles, prices range from $18,900 (being in above average condition) to $17,400 (being in average condition) and $15,900 (being in below average condition).

Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $17,600 to $20,900. If the car was sold via private party the price would be about 5%-10% higher than wholesale.

Be sure to check carfax and do plenty of research on the history of the vehicle. Ask for their maintenance records. You can even bring a mechanic for a brief inspection.
