How Much Should I Pay: 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan

Question: How much should I pay for a 2007 Grand Caravan SE with under 30K miles

Queen of the Road: Welcome to AutoBragBlog!

For a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan FWD V6 3.3L SE with 30,000 miles, wholesale prices range from $7,600 (being in above average condition) to $7,300 (being in average condition) and $6,900 (being in below average condition).

A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $7,900 to $8,700. A private seller will usually aim to sell it for 5%-10%.

Check the carfax and do plenty of research on the history of the vehicle. Ask for their maintenance records. You can even bring a mechanic for a brief inspection. Follow Up Comment: So $8,700 is a fair price for a 2007 GC in really good condition?! Asking Prices in my area (zip is 04901) are 4-5K above this. Could I really get a $9,000 2007 GC from a dealer?

Queen of the Road: Absolutely! They probably bought it from auction for less than $7,600. Dealers still need to make some dough, so they mark it high and when customers bargain, price lowers to about the12%-14% range where they still make a decent profit.

So… YES! $8,700 is reasonable. If they don’t budge their prices, then walk away. Anything higher is overpriced.
