How Much Should I Pay: 2006 Honda Pilot

Question From Andy: How much should i expect to pay for a 2006 honda pilot EX-L…leather but no navigation or DVD. 37,000 miles. I check the carfax report and it was in an accident in New York….any thoughts?

Queen of the Road: Hi Andy. Welcome to AutoBragBlog!

Who’s the seller: Dealership or private party? In this case, you have every right to ask for wholesale prices. I generally pass on cars that have a salvaged title. Think long term. When you try to sell it, not only will it have depreciated, but people avoid cars that have been in an accident. Imagine trying to sell a salvaged car.

For a 2006 Honda Pilot 4WD EX-L with 37,000 miles, wholesale prices range from $22,100 (being in above average condition) to $20,100 (being in average condition) and $18,000 (being in below average condition).

A fair range for a dealership sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $19,900 to $24,300. A private seller will usually aim to sell it for 5%-10%.

Good luck and keep us posted!
