How Much Should I Pay: 2008 Ford Mustang Prices

Question From Larry: I’m looking at a 2008 mustang. V6 with pony package, 12,000 miles. The car is at a ford dealer. The lowest price so gfar they have given me is $15,995. I thing 15,000 would be a fair price. What do you think? Thanks
Queen of the Road: Hi Larry. Welcome to AutoBragBlog! I would start at $13k and compromise in between!
For a 2008 Ford Mustang V6 Coupe with 12,000 miles, wholesale prices range from $14,600 (being in above average condition) to $13,000 (being in average condition) and $11,500 (being in below average condition).
A fair range for a dealership sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $12,700 to $16,000. A private seller will usually aim to sell it for 5%-10%.
Check the carfax and do plenty of research on the history of the vehicle. Ask for their maintenance records. You can even bring a mechanic for a brief inspection. Here’s a good article to read before continuing: Car Buying Tips From An Insider. Let me know if you have any further car questions.
Good luck and keep us posted on how the purchase goes!
