How Much Should I Pay: 2003 Nissan Murano

August 10th, 2008

Question From DSJ: Year: 2003
Make: Nissan
Model: Murano
Trim: SL 2WD
Mileage: 50000
VIN:
Buying or Selling? - Buying
ZIP: 60137

Request: Auction/Wholesale Price

Queen of the Road: Hi DSJ! For a 2003 Nissan Murano SL with 50,000 miles, prices range from $12,800 (being in above average condition) to $11,500 (being in average condition) and $10,200 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $11.4k to $14.2k.

How Much Should I Pay: 2002 & 2003 Nissan Maxima SE

November 26th, 2007

Question: Could I get some numbers on what I should expect to pay for the following:

2002 - 2003 Nissan Maxima SE

- 75k miles or less
- automatic transmission
- leather interior

don’t care about the rest. Dealer and private parties would be helpful. My local market (DC metro) seems to be WAY higher than
Edmunds/kbb values.

MuscleCarGuy: For a 2002 Nissan Maxima SE with 75,000 miles, prices range from $8,950 (being in above average condition) to $7,550 (average condition) and $6,150 (being below average condition).

For a 2003 Nissan Maxima SE with 60,000 miles, prices range from $10,600 (being in above average condition) to $9,050 (average condition) and $7,500 (being below average condition).

Keep in mind that these are average wholesale prices. Good Luck!!!

How Much Should I Pay: 2003 Nissan Maxima & 1999 Acura 3.2TL

October 4th, 2007

Question: I am looking to buy a car and below are my two choices. Both are from Private parties. Unsure, if you can help with Private party values, but doesn’t hurt to ask. 2003 Nissan Maxima GLE with 88K miles
Asking price $11700(after some haggling)
No heated front row seats
1999 Acura TL sedan - 83K miles
Asking price - $9800(quoted price, not talked to guy yet)
Has heated front row seats

Thanks man.

Queen of the Road: Sure, I can help you with private party prices. Remember to have the vehicle inspected and use CarFax or equivalent to check for the history of the car. The numbers I’ll be giving you are quotes from an auto auction where certified car salesmen attend to bid on cars they intend to resell on their lots.

A 2003 Nissan Maxima GLE:
Average auction price is $10,050 with 69,700 miles.
Below average auction price is $7,280 with 102,025 miles.
With 88k miles, a fair price to pay is $8.5, but it should vary based on the current condition of the car.

A 1999 Acura 3.2TL Sedan:
Above average auction price $6,700 with 83,225 miles.
Average auction price is $4,700 with 124,460 miles.
With 83k miles, a fair price is $6.7k.
Again, it should vary based on the options and condition of the car. If it’s salvaged, it should be less.

Remember: do a carfax before buying.
