How Much Should I Pay: 2004 BMW 5-Series

July 9th, 2008

Question From Kynan: What is the going rate for a 2004 BMW 525i at an auction if it is in good condition? Is it worth the price?

MuscleCarGuy: Hi Kynan. Welcome back to AutoBragBlog, where we do all the car price researching for you.

For a 2004 BMW 525i with 50,000 miles (Average), prices range from $22,400 (being in above average condition) to $19,450 (being in average condition) and $16,600 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $18,600 to $25,500.

For 2009 the BMW 5-Series will be redesign, and with that the price for the older model will depreciate substantially. I would suggest you to buy the 2006 BMW 3-Series. It is about the same price for a newer car with less mileage and still under factory warranty. Good luck and keep us posted on how the purchase goes! Question From Kevin: How much should I pay for a 03′ BMW 325 CI Convertible 65,000 miles?

How much should I pay for a 04′ BMW 325 CI Convertible 60,000 miles?

MuscleCarGuy: Hi Kevin. Welcome to AutoBragBlog, where we do all the car price researching for you.

For a 2003 BMW 325Ci Convertible with 65,000 miles, prices range from $17,850 (being in above average condition) to $15,400 (being in average condition) and $12,950 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $14,500 to $20,300.

For a 2004 BMW 325Ci Convertible with 60,000 miles, prices range from $18,200 (being in above average condition) to $16,350 (being in average condition) and $14,500 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $16,200 to $20,800.

Are you buying from a Dealer or Private Party? When you are ready to buy a car, be sure to check carfax and do plenty of research on the history of the vehicle. Ask for their maintenance records. You can even bring a mechanic for a brief inspection. Good luck and keep us posted on how the purchase goes! Don’t forget to tell your friends and family about our free personal service.

Question: Hi
What should be the price for the following 330xi
Year : 2003

What should be the price for the following 325i

Make : BMW
Model : 325
Trim : i
Mileage : 50000
Zip : 08724
The dealer was also asking 18,400.

Thanks in advance!!!

Queen of the Road: Hello.

For a 2003 BMW 330XI with 72,000 miles, prices can range from $18,000 (being in above average condition) to $16,000 (being in average condition) and $14,150 (being below average condition). I would haggle until I got the price down to $17,850.

For a 2004 BMW 325I Sedan with 50,000 miles, prices can range from $16,200 (being in above average condition) to $14,700 (being in average condition) and $13,200 (being below average condition). Unless this car is in above average condition, I wouldn’t be satisfied until the price is haggled down to $18,000.

So keep in mind that these numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale. Be sure to do some research on the car. Happy New Year and Good Luck!

How Much Should I Pay For: 2004 BMW 330ci

December 25th, 2007

Question: One more:

Year: 2004
Make: BMW
Model: 330ci Coupe
Transmission: Auto
Packages: Premium, Sport
Mileage: 49,000
Zip Code: 94610

Queen of the Road: For a 2004 BMW 330ci Coupe with 49,000 miles, prices range from $20,500 (being in above average condition) to $18,400 (average condition) and $16,300 (being below average condition).

These prices are wholesale so dealers expect the car to sell for an extra $2,000. Happy Car Shopping!

Follow Up Comment:  Thank you so much! Looking around craigslist and bmw forums it looked like 20k was about the right price so this confirmed it. Thanks!
