How Much Should I Pay: 2005 Mercedes-Benz ML350 & 2004 BMW X5 Prices
March 4th, 2010

Question From Derrick: I started looking at this vehicle and wanted to know what is this car’s price range. I am looking around 35,000 miles. Clean title. VIN: 4JGAB57E75A565937. 4 DR. WAGON/SPORT UTILITY 3.7L V6 SFI SOHC 18V ALL WHEEL DRIVE
Basically I was thinking between a 2005 ML350 (VIN: 4JGAB57E75A565937 at 35k miles) or a 2004 BMW X5 (VIN: 5UXFA13594LU22128 at 24k miles). I like the looks of both cars. I like the way the BMW feels when driving. But I wanted an expert’s opinion or insight if they had to choose between the 2. And of course, can you give me market price or the going rate for the 2 cars.

How Much Should I Pay: 2004 BMW 330XI
July 21st, 2009

Question From Alan: Year: 2004
Mileage: 55,000
selling price: 15,000
Packages: sports package, premium package, multi compact disc, navigation, park distance control, xenon headlamps, and hill descent.
seller: private
I have checked the kbb book value for this car and it is thousands less than suggested. This is clearly a bargain, but I need some assurance as to if this is a great buy. This is my first car and it is intended for college use. My parents are still iffy about the car. So my question is would this car be a dependable car for a 19 year old? Would you say it is suitable and worth the “bang for the buck”? And in terms of maintenance would it be costly? How many years/mileage do you think on average this 2004 bmw has left in it?

What I want to know is that first, is this carfax provided on website reliable. Second, is it a good price. At first I wanted the 05-06 and up models of the x5 but this price seems like a good deal. And if this is a car that I should buy, what kind of questions should I ask or what type of hidden issues I should look for.

How Much Should I Sell: 2004 BMW X3
December 18th, 2008

Question From Tim: Hi, I’m looking to trade in my pre-certified 04 BMW X3 3.0i, in excellent condition, 36K miles. Since it is technically over four years old, apparently my BMW dealership cannot re-certify it, although if I sell it to a private party the pre-certification status will transfer. Accordingly, what is a fair trade-in value for this vehicle? Thanks, and great site, very helpful!
Queen of the Road: Hi Tim. Welcome to our blog. Below are the wholesale prices for that car.

How Much Should I Pay For: 2004 BMW 330ci
December 25th, 2007

Question: One more:
Year: 2004
Make: BMW
Model: 330ci Coupe
Transmission: Auto
Packages: Premium, Sport
Mileage: 49,000
Zip Code: 94610
Queen of the Road: For a 2004 BMW 330ci Coupe with 49,000 miles, prices range from $20,500 (being in above average condition) to $18,400 (average condition) and $16,300 (being below average condition).

Follow Up Comment: Thank you so much! Looking around craigslist and bmw forums it looked like 20k was about the right price so this confirmed it. Thanks!
