i visually inspected it body would be a 9/10, tired need to be replaced. they are going to replace the brakes, interior is 8-9 out of 10.

Queen of the Road: Let’s get you some wholesale Acura prices.

For a 2006 Acura TSX Sedan 6spd with 28,000 miles, wholesale prices range from $19,500 (being in above average condition) to $17,500 (being in average condition) and $15,600 (being in below average condition).

A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $17,300 to $21,500. A private seller will usually aim to sell it for 5%-10%.

$18,700 is a good price seeing that it’s in great condition and has a clean history. I give the price a Thumbs Up. Best of luck and keep us posted on how the purchase goes!

How Much Should I Pay: 2006 Acura MDX

October 9th, 2008

Question: wow this is such a great service you’re providing to the community! Thank you!!!

I was wondering if you could provide some figures for a:

Year: 2006
Make: Acura
Model/Trim: MDX Touring
Options: Navigation and Rear Entertainment System
Mileage: 55000 miles
Notes: clean Carfax
Zip code: 22153

The Acura dealer is asking $27,000 which comes with a Pre-Owned Certification warranty.

There’s another one in my area with the same specs/options, except with only 30,000 miles and no CPO warranty. They’re asking $30,000. Both prices seem high given the market condition for SUVs. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks again.

Queen of the Road: Hi there. Let’s see what wholesale Acura prices we’ve got here…

For a 2006 Acura MDX 4WD Touring Navigation and DVD with 55,000 miles, prices range from $21,100 (being in above average condition) to $18,700 (being in average condition) and $16,300 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $18,200 to $23,500.

For a 2006 Acura MDX 4WD Touring Navigation and DVD with 30,000 miles, prices range from $25,100 (being in above average condition) to $22,600 (being in average condition) and $20,200 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $22,100 to $27,400.

Whoa! Both deals are way overpriced! Especially for an SUV at a time like this. For a CPO, you should pay more than $24,000 if it’s in great condition. As for the second deal, you shouldn’t be paying more than $27,000.

Regarding CPOs, many people don’t understand much about it. It’s assumed that if you purchase CPO, then  cars will be incinivible. It’s pricier but not worth the extra money. It’s more affordable to buy extended warranty. You should ask that dealer what the price difference is for a regular car and one with CPO. Then, shop around for the difference to see what a better deal is.
