August 3rd, 2008

Question:  Wow this is great!

Any help would be appreciated for this inquiry:

2005-2007 Acura TSX
Auto or Manual
Sunroof/Moonroof
zip 92618

Thanks!

Queen of the Road: Hi there! You’ve come to the right place for help. I’ll look into those trims, but I need to know what the range of mileage you’re interested in. Also, do you have a preference between the Auto or Manual? Did you want navigation?

How Much Should I Pay: 2007 Acura MDX

July 28th, 2008

Question From Sai: I am looking to purchase a used 2007 MDX with Navigation and DVD with about 25, 000 miles on it. How much do you think I should be spending? Even though the truck market is sluggish, it seems like the 2007 MDX is a “hot” commodity on the used market according to what I am seeing on ebaymotors, cars.com and autotrader. Let me know your thoughts.

On a side note, I am looking to sell my green 2002 Audi A4 3.0 Quattro Auto with 115K on it. The car is in fairly good condition but needs 4 new tires and a timing belt change which I skipped at 110K. No major accident. Dealer maintained. Everything works. I commute 100 miles daily which explains the high miles. What do you think I will get for it private party?

MuscleCarGuy: Hi Sai. Welcome to AutoBragBlog, where we do all the car price researching for you.

For a 2007 Acura MDX Technology Pkg with 25,000 miles, prices range from $32,300 (being in above average condition) to $30,300 (being in average condition) and $28,200 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $31,600 to $36,800.

For a 2002 Audi A4 3.0L Quattro with 115,000 miles, prices range from $9,100 (being in above average condition) to $7,550 (being in average condition) and $6,000 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. That’s what you should expect to get if you trade in your car. If you private sell it you should be able to get 5%-10% over the wholesale prices. Good Luck and let us know if you have any other question. How Much Should I Pay: 2007 Acura MDX

How Much Should I Pay: 2007 Acura MDX Sport (Updated)

April 9th, 2008

This Is An Update To A Previous Question

Follow Up Comment: i called the dealership and they still had the mdx port 2007 for 39,995 with 69 miles - they claim it’s a floor vehicle that’s new.   sounds like a great price, what’s your take on it

Queen of the Road: Oh I see now. Not 69,000, only 69 miles! Well, that changes everything.

For a 2007 Acura MDX 4WD Sport with only 69 miles, prices range from $41,300 (being in above average condition) to $39,900 (being in average condition) and $38,400  (being in below average condition).

So now that we have the prices for an Acura with 68,931 miles less, Yes! It does sound like a good deal. Now when they say “Floor vehicle” , does that mean just another car on the lot? Or the model car inside the building that no one test drives?

How Much Should I Pay: 2007 Acura MDX Sport (Updated)

This Is An Update To A Previous Question

Follow Up Comment: hi.  thank you for your response.  I just saw an email ad that had a mdx sport 2007 for $39,900 with 69 miles - seems a little too good to be true (inskip acura deal in RI).

Btw, i’ve been unable to locate many 2007 sport mdx’s in my area (MA, NH, VT, RI)  - can you point me to some resource which will point me to more inventory (whether wholesale, private or through dealer?)

thanks,
des

Queen of the Road: Hi, Desmond. For a 2007 Acura MDX 4WD Sport with 69,000 miles, prices range from $36,500 (being in above average condition) to $35,100 (being in average condition) and $33,600 (being in below average condition).

A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $37k to $40.2k.  So that MDX for $39.9 isn’t even considered a deal to us. It’s average price at a used car dealership. Keep checking on Craigslist, AutoTrader, etc. in Rhode Island and all your surrounding states.

What you could end up doing is flying to a bigger city and driving it back. Plenty of people have done that before. I’ve done that before. It’s worth it if you find a deal that saves you thousands. I researched RI/MA Craigslists and it does seem discouraging because a search for a 2007 Acura MDX pulls up empty. Don’t worry, you’ll find your car. Soon many cars will be for sale now that the recession has begun.

How Much Should I Pay: 2007 Acura MDX Sport

Question From Desmond: hi,  i’m looking for used 2007/2008 MDX Sport. What are they going for in the wholesale market. (looking in New England area).

Queen of the Road: Hi, Desmond. The wholesale prices below apply nationwide.

For a 2007 Acura MDX 4WD Sport with 13,000 miles (this is the average mileage for the 2007),  prices range from $39,400 (being in above average condition) to $37,900 (being in average condition) and $36,500(being in below average condition).

Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $39.9k to $43k.

When you find a MDX that you’re considering, send me the exact mileage and we’d be happy to pull up a more precise estimate.
