How Much Should I Pay: 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan & 2007 Hyundai Entourage

November 3rd, 2008

Question From Chris: Hello,

We’re in the market for a mini-van and there seems to be some “better” deals on used ’07s (mostly Rental lease backs) - there are many out there.
Was wondering about prices on a few:

2007 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT
Mileage: 28,667
Engine: 3.8L V6 Transmission: AUTO 4SPD Drivetrain: FWD
Price: $14,995

2007 Dodge Grand Caravan SE
Mileage: 15,100
Engine: 3.3L V6 Transmission: AUTO 4SPD Drivetrain: FWD
Price: $14,990

And finally:
2007 Hyundai Entourage
Mileage: 28,838
Body Style: Minivan
Exterior Color: Blue Engine: 3.8L V6 Transmission: AUTO 5SPD
Price:$14,800

We were also looking at a 2007 Hyundai Entourage - looks like it was owned by a rental company previously.

Queen of the Road: Hi Chris. Welcome to AutoBragBlog.

For a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan FWD V6 3.8L SXT with 58,650 miles, wholesale prices range from $11,400 (being in above average condition) to $9,700 (being in average condition) and $7,900 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $9k to $12.7k. Private sellers generally mark up +5%- 10% from wholesale prices.

For a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan FWD V6 3.3L SE with 15,100 miles, wholesale prices range from $10,900 (being in above average condition) to $9,700 (being in average condition) and $8,600 (being in below average condition). A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $9.7k to $12.3k.

For a 2007 Hyundai Entourage Wagon GLS with 28,850 miles, wholesale prices range from $11,100 (being in above average condition) to $10,500 (being in average condition) and $9,900 (being in below average condition). A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $11.2k to $12.6k.

Be sure to check carfax and do plenty of research on the history of each vehicle. Ask for their maintenance records. You can even bring a mechanic for a brief inspection.
