How Much Should I Pay: 2007 Nissan Altima

October 13th, 2008

Question From Drew: Year: 2007
Make: Nissan
Model: Altima
Trim: 2.5 SL Auto/CVT (SL adds leather, moonroof, wheels, climate control, etc)
Mileage: under 30k
Buying From Broker
Zip - 97236

Thanks!!

Queen of the Road: Hi Drew. Welcome back. What is your broker charging? Flat fee or percentage? Below are Nissan wholesale prices rated at 30,000 miles.

For a 2004 Nissan Altima SL with 30,000 miles, prices range from $18,800 (being in above average condition) to $17,000 (being in average condition) and $15,100 (being in below average condition).

Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $16,800 to $20,800.

Be sure to check carfax and do plenty of research on the history of the vehicle. Ask for their maintenance records. You can even bring a mechanic for a brief inspection. Best of luck and keep us posted on how the purchase goes! Don’t forget to tell your friends and family about our free personal service.

How Much Should I Pay: 2007 Nissan Murano

August 1st, 2008

Question: I’m looking for the following:

Year:2007
Make:Nissan Murano
Model: AWD
Trim: SL, Fully loaded, nav et al.
Mileage: brand new (I can find ‘em, just don’t know how much they’re worth with gas prices…and the fact the ’09s are out)
VIN:
Buying or Selling?buying
From Private Party or From A Dealership?dealer

Thanks for your help.

Queen of the Road: Hello there! It looks like I’ve got only 2 deals in store. The average discount between these two deals is 20% off MSRP.

For a 2007 Nissan Murano SL 4dr SUV AWD (3.5L 6cyl CVT),

The Largest Percentage Off MSRP Price: $30,326.00
MSRP: $38,140.00
ePrice: $30,326.00
Savings: $7,814.00
% OFF MSRP: 20.49%0

2nd Largest Percentage Off MSRP Price: $29,448.00
MSRP: $36,940.00
ePrice: $29,448.00
Savings: $7,492.00
% OFF MSRP: 20.28%

You’re probably wondering why I gave you links to dealerships in other cities below. I’ll get to that in one second. But first…

What are all these blue links for? The first blue link breaks down the numbers so that you don’t have to do any math or researching. You’ll see exactly how much money you’re saving if you pay the “Internet Price”. It also lists the National Average Discount, the National Maximum Discount and the National Average Price for each vehicle. We also provide our personal opinion to whether we think the deal is good or not.

If we approve the deal, we’ll show a thumbs up and “Bring Your Checkbook“.

If we think the deal is ok, we’ll show a thumb tilted sideways and “Fair Market“.

If we disapprove the deal, we’ll show a thumbs down and “Keep Shopping“.

The second blue link is the proof you’ll need when you step foot onto the dealership. Don’t leave home without it! It’s the page that shows the price which you’ll be asking for. It’s basically what you need to pull up on their computers if they don’t believe you found that price online form that dealer’s inventory.

So now what? Print out all the blue links above and take them to your local dealerships. But before you go, we highly recommend you call and make an appointment to see the Internet Fleet Manager because he/she should know exactly what you’re talking about. Avoid the floor salesmen, head straight to the Internet Sales Manager.

If they don’t believe your prices, ask to use one of their computers so they can see where these figures came from. It’ll be impossible for them to doubt you because you’re pulling up dealership’s website and checking their inventory. Remember, cars are a commodity so these prices apply everywhere in the U.S. If you want to research more new car prices, poke around on www.AutoBrag.com.

Keep us posted with how everything goes.

Queen of the Road: Hi there! $19k from a dealership? Not bad at all.

For a 2007 Nissan Altima SL with 15,000 miles, prices range from $20,300 (being in above average condition) to $18,900 (being in average condition) and $17,400 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $19,300 to $22,400.

Hmmm. Did you already negotiate the price down? Or did they readily offer $19k? Make sure to check CarFax and do plenty of research on the history of the vehicle. $19k is on the low side for a dealership’s offering price. If you’ve already checked Carfax and certain you’ll buy the car, bring a mechanic for a brief inspection. Good luck and keep us posted on how the purchase goes. If you need help with any other cars, come back and ask. Don’t forget to tell your friends and family about our free personal service.

How Much Should I Pay: 2007 Nissan Frontier SE

June 5th, 2008

Question: Thanks Icy,
Turns out there is a deposit on that, and while I wait to see if that sale goes thru, I have found another..(if it’s not too much trouble.)

Year:2007
Make:Nissan Crew Cab
Model: Frontier 4WD 4L V6 Auto

List Price: $21,988
Internet Price: $20,988
Buying From A Dealership

Thanks Again!!

Queen of the Road: Hi there! Sure, no problem. Their price is still too high. I would talk it down as close to wholesale prices as possible. $21,000 is a rip off.

For a 2007 Nissan Frontier 4WD V6 Crew Cab 4.0L SE with 23,350 miles, prices range from $18,700 (being in above average condition) to $17,700 (being in average condition) and $16,700 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $18,500 to $20,700.

Have you tried searching for cars through private parties? There’s people on Craigslist and AutoTrader who would be willing to lower their prices if you call and talk to them. Let me know everything goes!

How Much Should I Pay: 2007 Nissan Maxima

May 7th, 2008

Question From Roene:   I’am going to buy a 2007 Nissan Maxima SL in August or September
The retail price now is about $25,000 with 20,000 miles. How much lower in price will it be in 3 or 4 months. I don\’t want to pay more than $20,000. Any tips this is my first time buying from a actual dealership?

MuscleCarGuy:   Hi Roene! Welcome to AutoBragBlog, where we do all the car price researching for you.

For a 2007 Nissan Maxima with 20,000 miles, prices range from $22,700 (being in above average condition) to $21,000 (being in average condition) and $19,350 (being in below average condition).

Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $21,600 to $26,000.

With the prices above we can see that is hard to get a 2007 Nissan Maxima for $20,000, but when the new redesign 2009 Nissan Maxima goes on sale next June, the prices for the 2007 will drop significantly. You will probably be able to get a nice one for $20,000 or less. Let us know if you have any other question. Good Luck!!!

April 25th, 2008

Question From Val:   How much should I pay for a 2007 Altima SL 4 cylinder with 18K miles. Honda used prices seem wacked, so I was thinking a new accord EX coupe with the 190 HP 4 cyl. (It seems to add 2k to go from Ex to EX-L, and i could always add leather later for 1k). For all of the cars, I am looking at automatics although i actually have been driving manual for 20 years. My wife likes automatics

Queen of the Road: Hi there, Tom! Welcome to AutoBragBlog.

Car #1 Is the Toyota 4-Runner V6 or V8? Limited, Sport, SR5 or SE?

Car #2 For a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder 4WD V6 LE with 30,000 miles, prices range from $20,800 (being in above average condition) to $18,700 (being in average condition) and $16,500 (being in below average condition).

How Much Should I Pay: 2007 Nissan Altima

January 18th, 2008

Question: Hey. Please help with numbers for a car I’m looking for.

2007
Nissan
Altima
Auto, 4dr, 2.5S, no extras
Around 25k miles

Thanks!!!

Queen of the Road: Hi there. For a 2007 Nissan Altima Sedan S with 25,000 miles, prices can range from $14,900 (being in above average condition) to $14,500 (being in average condition) and $14,000 (being below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices.

A dealership will try and sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale. So expect an extra +$1,650 to be added on the above prices, but don’t fall for it. Haggle as low as you possibly can and be sure to do plenty of research on the car’s history. Best of luck!

Thanks!

MuscleCarGuy:   The prices that I am giving you are all wholesale prices, and that is what the dealers are paying for these vehicles. It is up to you to judge the condition of the car that you are looking at and decide how much of your money you want to give to the dealer. I suggest you use CarFax to have an idea of the history of these cars. You should also take them to a mechanic, and have them check it before you buy it. Good Luck!!!
