How Much Should I Pay: Pre-Owned 2008 Subaru Forester

November 11th, 2008

Question From Needacar: 2008 Subaru Forester 2.5X automatic; miles: 8000

VIN: JF1SG63628H700628

Thank you so much!

Queen of the Road: Hello and welcome to our blog! You’re very welcome. Glad we can help!

For a 2008 Subaru Forester AWD 2.5X with 8,000 miles, wholesale prices range from $16,300 (being in above average condition) to $15,300 (being in average condition) and $14,300 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices.

A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $15.8k to $18k.

Be sure to check carfax and do plenty of research on the history of the vehicle. Ask for their maintenance records. You can even bring a mechanic for a brief inspection. Here’s an article I recommmend everyone read before completing the car buying process.

How Much Should I Pay: 2008 Subaru Impreza

October 8th, 2008

Question From Michal: hi I can almost promise this is the last one. ( i finally test drove a few)

2008 subaru impreza 5 door manual (5spd) - preimum package.

or 2008 subaru impreza outback sport manual (5spd)

Queen of the Road: Hi, Michal! Seriously, I love having you as a regular. I really do. Please do not ever feel guilty asking me anything. In fact, tell your friends who have car questions to ask me. It makes my day helping people.

Back to car prices… After searching deals for both trims, the Impreza Wagon deals are much stronger. There were no Outback deals with a manual feature available so I listed a deal anyways so you’d get an idea of the discount.

For a 2008 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport 4dr Wagon AWD w/VDC (2.5L 4cyl 4A),

The Largest Percentage Off MSRP Price: $18,638.00
MSRP: $20,970.00
ePrice: $18,638.00
Savings: $2,332.00
% OFF MSRP: 11.12%

The deal below is a manual and is the largest Subaru Impreza discount from Fitzgerald Subaru of Countryside in Florida. It doesn’t have the Premium package, but it should give you an idea of how large a discount you can receive.

For a 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX 4dr Wagon AWD w/VDC (2.5L 4cyl Turbo 5M),

The Largest Percentage Off MSRP Price: $21,019.00
MSRP: $25,931.00
ePrice: $21,019.00
Savings: $4,912.00
% OFF MSRP: 18.94%

What are all these blue links for? The first blue link breaks down the numbers so that you don’t have to do any math or researching. You’ll see exactly how much money you’re saving if you pay the “Internet Price”. It also lists the National Average Discount, the National Maximum Discount and the National Average Price for each vehicle. We also provide our personal opinion to whether we think the deal is good or not.

If we approve the deal, we’ll show a thumbs up and “Bring Your Checkbook“.

If we think the deal is ok, we’ll show a thumb tilted sideways and “Fair Market“.

If we disapprove the deal, we’ll show a thumbs down and “Keep Shopping“.

The second blue link is the proof you’ll need when you step foot onto the dealership. Don’t leave home without it! It’s the page that shows the price which you’ll be asking for. It’s basically what you need to pull up on their computers if they don’t believe you found that price online form that dealer’s inventory.

How do I use these deals from out of state in my hometown? Print out all the blue links above and take them to your local dealerships. But before you go, we highly recommend you call and make an appointment to see the Internet Fleet Manager because he/she should know exactly what you’re talking about. Avoid the floor salesmen, head straight to the Internet Sales Manager.

If they don’t believe your prices, ask to use one of their computers so they can see where these figures came from. It’ll be impossible for them to doubt you because you’re pulling up dealership’s website and checking their inventory. It may take a few tries before a dealership agrees to honor the deal. The effort is certainly worth it. Saving an extra thousand(s) really pays off. Remember, cars are a commodity so these prices apply everywhere in the U.S. If you want to research more new car prices, poke around on www.AutoBrag.com.

Don’t forget to tell your friends and family about our free personal service. Goodluck and keep us posted!

How Much Should I Pay: 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 Subaru Forester

August 28th, 2008

Question: You are such a nice guy!

My first post, so please pardon if not conforming to the standards here.

I am looking for a AWD car for driving in heavy snow (upper state New York, around Syracuse/Ithaca/Elmira) and need to drive uphill. My search revealed that the best car for that would be Subaru Forester (and Volvo but tends to be expensive).

so, would you please help me?

here are few options for me:

1. Used (certified) car:
Year: 2005, 2006, 2007 or 2008
Make: Subaru
Model: Forester, 4WD, 4cyclinder, Auto
Trim: X or 2.5 X or 2.5 XT (not too care)
Mileage: below 60,000
VIN:
Buying
From A Dealership (better to be certified and/or with warranty)

I am also open to a new car instead (2008 but seems to be difficult to find; 2009)
2. New car
Year: 2009
Make: Subaru
Model: Forester 4WD, 4C, Auto
Trim: (does not matter); X or X premier
Mileage:
VIN:
Buying From A Dealership

Color does not matter; a good price would be a key.
Not inerested in leasinng nor financing unless the rate is 0% (or below 2%).

Thank you so much!

Queen of the Road: Hi there. Thank you for your kind words. I can definitely help you with wholesale prices, but the range needs to be narrowed down. So I’m going to give you an idea of the wholesale prices by matching each year with a different trims at 60,000 miles. That way, you’ll know the what not to pay for cars higher than 60,000 miles.

When you find a specific car, you can run it through me again and I’ll narrow down the range.

For a 2005 Subaru Forester AWD X with 60,000 miles, wholesale prices range from $11,700 (being in above average condition) to $10,200 (being in average condition) and $8,700 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $9,900 to $13,200.

For a 2006 Subaru Forester AWD X with 60,000 miles, wholesale prices range from $13,200 (being in above average condition) to $11,700 (being in average condition) and $10,300 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $11,700 to $14,800.

For a 2007 Subaru Forester AWD 2.5X with 60,000 miles, wholesale prices range from $12,400 (being in above average condition) to $11,500 (being in average condition) and $10,500 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $12,000 to $14,000.

For a 2008 Subaru Forester AWD 2.5X with 60,000 miles, wholesale prices range from $14,800 (being in above average condition) to $13,700 (being in average condition) and $12,600 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $14,300 to $16,700.

For the 2009 Forester, here’s the trim I have in store. Take a look and choose which you’re interested in.

2.5X 4dr SUV AWD w/Premium Pkg,VDC (2.5L 4cyl 4A)

2.5XT Limited 4dr SUV AWD w/VDC (2.5L 4cyl Turbo 4A)

2.5XT 4dr SUV AWD w/VDC (2.5L 4cyl Turbo 4A)

2.5X 4dr SUV AWD w/VDC (2.5L 4cyl 4A)

Just enter your choice into the comment box below and I’ll begin researching deals for you.
