How Much Should I Pay: 2010 Toyota Matrix & 2010 Toyota Prius Prices & How Much Should I Sell: 2004 Toyota Matrix

Question From Dave: I own a 2004 Toyota Matrix 67700 miles. My car-buying strategy is to sell a car when it is not TOO old, but not too new. My 5-6 year old Matrix’s warranty just ran out so I decided to start at CarMax to see how much I could get for it. I wouldn’t actually sell it that low, but it would give me a starting point for negotiating. It came in at $7,000. I am sure I can get the car detailed and try to sell it on eBay/Craigslist for $8,500. Worst case scenario I will tgo back to CarMax in a month with my tail between my legs.
