How Much Should I Pay: 2007 Acura MDX

July 28th, 2008

Question From Sai: I am looking to purchase a used 2007 MDX with Navigation and DVD with about 25, 000 miles on it. How much do you think I should be spending? Even though the truck market is sluggish, it seems like the 2007 MDX is a “hot” commodity on the used market according to what I am seeing on ebaymotors, cars.com and autotrader. Let me know your thoughts.

On a side note, I am looking to sell my green 2002 Audi A4 3.0 Quattro Auto with 115K on it. The car is in fairly good condition but needs 4 new tires and a timing belt change which I skipped at 110K. No major accident. Dealer maintained. Everything works. I commute 100 miles daily which explains the high miles. What do you think I will get for it private party?

MuscleCarGuy: Hi Sai. Welcome to AutoBragBlog, where we do all the car price researching for you.

For a 2007 Acura MDX Technology Pkg with 25,000 miles, prices range from $32,300 (being in above average condition) to $30,300 (being in average condition) and $28,200 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $31,600 to $36,800.

For a 2002 Audi A4 3.0L Quattro with 115,000 miles, prices range from $9,100 (being in above average condition) to $7,550 (being in average condition) and $6,000 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. That’s what you should expect to get if you trade in your car. If you private sell it you should be able to get 5%-10% over the wholesale prices. Good Luck and let us know if you have any other question. Sunroof, no leather, mostly stanrdard options

How Much Should I Pay: 2008 Volkswagen Passat

March 19th, 2008

Question From Jose:  Hi.

Year: 2008
Make: VW
Model: Passat 2.0T Lux
Miles: new
From: Dealer
sedan

Selling or trading:

Year: 2002
Make: Ford
Model: Windstar SE
Mileage: 80k

The VW Passat who I’m looking for will be exported to Spain, so some of the features like GPS, Sirius, extended warranty or even the triptonic (because the better gas average of the manual) I don’t really need. But I really want the Climatronic and the memory seat, I did a research and probably only the Lux has both. The best so far is 29450 for a Passat lux 2008.

Thank you

Jose

Queen of the Road:  Hi, Jose. Welcome to AutoBragBlog, where we do your car price researching for you at no charge.

For the 2002 Ford Windstar V6 3.8L SE with 80,000 miles, prices range from $5,400 (being in above average condition) to $4,400 (being in average condition) and $3,400 (being in below average condition). Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices.

After a dealership gets their hands on your car, they’ll usually flip it for an extra +12%-14% more than wholesale. So, estimated when it comes time to sell your car, their retail prices can range from $4.2k - $6.3k. So there’s you range. Let us know if you need any help selling/trading in or buying.

How Much Should I Sell For: 2002 BMW 325ci

December 24th, 2007

Question:
Year: 2002
Make: BMW
Model: 325ci Coupe
Transmission: Auto
Packages: Premium, Sport
Mileage: 60,000
Zip Code: 94610

Thanks!

Queen of the Road:  Hello. For a 2002 BMW 325ci coupe with 60,000 miles, prices range from $13,650 (being in above average condition) to $11,850 (average condition) and $10,100 (being below average condition). These prices are wholesale so expect the car to sell for an extra $1,100 at a used car dealership. Happy Holidays and Happy Car Shopping!

Follow Up Comment:  Thanks! Dealer was asking 19k for a certified car (which is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous).

Queen of the Road: That’s nuts! You might as well buy a new car with $19k.
