How Much Should I Sell: 2007 Lexus LS460

November 12th, 2008

Question From Cheryl:  if I wanted to sell my 2007 Lexus LS460- fully loaded with 24,000 miles - what would be the wholesale price I can get and what would be the trade in value?

Queen of the Road: Hi Cheryl. Welcome to AutoBragBlog! The LS460 is an absolute beauty. It’s by far one of my favorite cars and I admire how technologically advanced their autos are. Lexus sure knows how to build some quality cars.

I can not predict what a trade in value that you’ll be offered, but I can provide you with wholesale prices.

For a 2007 Lexus LS460 with 24,000 miles, wholesale prices range from $42,200 (being in above average condition) to $37,900 (being in average condition) and $33,500 (being in below average condition).

A dealership will usually buy these and flip them for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices could range from $36,800 to $46,200. A private seller will usually aim to sell it for 5%-10%. I always recommend trying to sell yourself. You may save more than you thought.

The dealer may offer less because that’s how they make profit - by flipping it. If you’re disappointed with what the dealer will offer you, here’s an article that covers what’s required for a successful do-it-yourself sale: 7 Steps To A Smooth Car Sale. Goodluck!

How Much Should I Sell: 2004 Lexus IS300 & 2007 Lexus IS250

April 3rd, 2008

Question:  Hello,

Can you check the selling price for my cars:

Year: 2004
Make: Lexus
Model: IS300 4door sedan, automatic
Color: Silver
40K miles

Year: 2007
Make: Lexus
Model: IS250 4door sedan, automatic
Color: Light Blue
9K miles.

Thanks

Queen of the Road: Absolutely! Ah… another Lexus fan.  For a 2004 Lexus IS300 with 40,000 miles, prices range from $18,200 (being in above average condition) to $16,250 (being in average condition) and $14,250 (being in below average condition).

Keep in mind that the numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership will usually aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices range from $15.8k to $20.1k.

For a 2007 Lexus IS250 with 9,000 miles, prices range from $29,100 (being in above average condition) to $27,500 (being in average condition) and $25,900 (being in below average condition).

Again, all numbers above are the wholesale prices. A dealership would aim to sell it for +12%-14% more than wholesale, so their estimated retail prices range from $28.5k to $31.8k. What Lexus will you get next?
